Greater Buffalo Tower - BUF

Are there any Air Traffic Controllers from Buffalo Niagara International Airport around here, or anyone have any experience there? I'm contemplating making a career switch from what I do now (management of tanker fleet logistics and dispatch) to becoming an Air Traffic Controller - ideally at BUF. It sure would be nice to get in touch with some people and learn some more about the facility, before I make the jump!

Anyone have any insight on BUF and/or the current staffing levels there? Is it a Good or not so good choice to start for OTS applicants? ANY info you have would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! I am from the area and have ideas of staying close to home if possible.

I believe that BUF is either a ATC-7 or ATC-8 facility, according to AirNav they average about 380 operations per day. My opinion and what I would recommend for someone that is OTS or even a CTI graduate is trying to be assigned to an ATC-7 or 8 facility.

Thanks MikeATC. So then, you advise OTS/CTI applicants to select terminal and not enroute (all enroute facilites are Level 11 & 12 besides 5 that are Level 10)?
