Glad to see you accepted the position. My friend was there for a bit, but then left for a contract gig. He said it's not a bad place. It's an older tower, not as nice as some of the newer ones. Training isn't bad, though you do have your share of grumpy people (but that's anywhere). I'd love to make it back down to J-ville, maybe one day. Is it still a 10?

When working the TRACON, you get to deal with NIP (not all controllers there will make your job easy) and VQQ. They're about 8 miles apart as the crow flies, so you get some interesting traffic situations. NRB is dead to slow most of the time, pretty much only H60 traffic. CRG can get pretty busy with an avg of 80 op/hr. HEG is a non-controlled airport that has decent traffic as well. Sometimes NEN is open and if the planes in the holding pattern go too far north, they can get into JAX's approach corridor.

JAX is a 9. You used ALOT of acronyms that mean nothing to me yet.

JAX tower is one of my top preferences if I get through the process. Any idea on what the staffing situation is there?

If you want the contact info for the natca rep let me know I was just there a couple of weeks ago for a tour. The personnel/some manager said they already hired I think 4 for 2009, he said he didn't think there would be any more billets this year. Lot of people training the pipe is a few years though. If you're curious about JAX want to talk to the NATCA rep, let me know VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE I will send you contact info and whatever else I have.

Good day!
