MCI always seemed like a good time. The area is decent, good food and beer, and casinos! Airspace is broken into (on the east side) a low and high (satellite airports and the main one pretty much). Work a lot with the military, as Whiteman AFB is to the east and all their flights seem to go thru there. Area isnt THAT expensive, so you can live comfortably imo.
I would pick MCI over ZKC (kc center) anyday.

Yep, I'm quite familiar with the area. I have lived in the area all of my life. I'm also pretty familiar with the airspace as well. I've conducted all of my flight training through the University of Central Missouri 50 miles east of KC, and I've flown several training flights up to KC and over to the Kansas side. Thats why I would love to go to MCI. I love the area and already have a headstart on learning all the airspace. Its pretty cool bumping elbows with the B-2's from Whiteman.

Haha I know exactly what you are talking about! That was me for about the first month of flight training, but for the last 4 years, I've been quite comfortable on the radios and actually enjoy it. I think KC approach actually ignores us sometimes so we can't enter the class B and they don't have to deal with us lol.

muhahahaha I would bet.

I'd be working and hear you call up, and b4 I would speak a large *sigh* would come out of my mouth. Tho... there are kids @ Whiteman who are just as "bad" on the other side of the mic.

Haha, just like I pictured in my mind, and yes, I have had my share of the controllers at Whiteman that seemed like they were training.
