Re: Corpus Christi ATCT/TRACON - CRP
Posted: 10-01-2009, 12:19 PM 17? So no more. I always wondered what the problem was with Texans..you just summed it up for me! haha
Thanks again for the info on the city. If I were looking for the best area right on the beach, where would you point me? |

Ocean Drive! Without a doubt. Nicest area in the city. Also, all the adjacent areas. I didn't mention this previously as the houses range from 500k- a couple mill. If you can find one in the area though....It's legit!

Posted: 10-01-2009, 04:49 PM Yeah, Padre Island has some pretty nice areas. Port A is full of tourists but will definately be the best place to go to have a great time on the beach. Watch out for sting rays. I kicked one up last weekend.

Re: Corpus Christi - CRP
Posted: 10-05-2009, 09:55 PM Just shuffle your feet when you get in. If you bump one you'll be fine, if you pin it down by steping on it then you're on sick leave for a while.
You cant beat the saltwater fishing in south TX. That guy in the videos also is a great fisherman and yes he's in corpus. |

Re: Corpus Christi - CRP
Posted: 10-05-2009, 11:12 PM Yeah, just like Nick said. If you just drag your feet they will swim off when you bump them. I've been fishing down there for 10 years and have seen 100's of rays and haven't been hit by any of them.

Re: Corpus Christi - CRP
Posted: 10-06-2009, 01:24 AM I was stationed at nas corpus and crp was our approach control, 90% of their traffic is military trainers and is a major pain since they are new trainees, crp is slow and if it was not for the military traffic count it would be a level 5 up down. housing is very affordable, but the summers are unbareable with bird size mosquitos everywhere.

Really the only other question I have about the facility is about the average time to check out. I saw somewhere else that a level 10 up/down took an average of about 15 months. |

Re: Corpus Christi - CRP
Posted: 10-06-2009, 01:37 PM I took 15 to check out in a level 9 up/down and that has been the quickest of anyone at my facility so far. BTW I think Corpus is a great city with lots to do and plenty of decent areas as well as a pretty big military presence. And Selena was from there...she was hot...until she was murdered!
