Does anybody have info on this facility? I would love to start my ATC career at this facility. What are the staffing numbers? What kind of air traffic does this facility handle? What is the traffic count for this facility? Thanks.

I wouldnt say that. By the time I CPC I'll be at 90k. The area is just bad for renters. You can buy a small house or condo for the price that their apartments charge for rent! Matter of fact your mortgage might cost less per month.

CPC at ADW is around 75k, 90-100 is the maximum under the 2012 pay scale. Take away taxes and everything else + cost of living it might be difficult for a while. I wish you the best of luck though, hopefully you can later xfer to DCA or IAD.

I work at BWI and am now making just over 90K. You might want to check your math again. With the 24% locality I got just over 75K for 2012. Unless you're at the top of the band, of course.

People only work at ADW to move on to higher facilities. As soon as you make CPC I would get your paperwork in to DCA, IAD, PCT, and BWI.

I'm not really going into this with the idea of tranferring, or trying to make a boatload of money. If I can make over 75k, I'll be happy. The only places I would want to transfer to is MDW (to come back to chicago) or Regan National (I toured there and it seems nice plus it would be an easier commute). Money isnt everything! The perfect salary for happiness is 75K.

What I would like to know about ADW is if they are 24hrs because they only employ 13 atcers, which makes me wonder?

If it's only a lvl 6, I would doubt it's a 24/7 facility...Just taking a stab at it though.

It is a 24 hour facility. Only because of the President.

I was told at my interview that ADW was a level 7. The ATM looked it up in some book. He also noted that facility level numbers change by how much traffic they have. SM says 6, but Im going to go with the ATM because his info is probably more up to date.

If it isnt 24hrs, that woud be great. No graveyard shifts!!! Sweet!
