Charlotte Tower - CLT

Anyone know how easy it is to get a tour scheduled here? Who should I speak with? I'm headed up to CLT mid-may for the All-Star race and would love to swing by and check out the tower.

Hello,
One way is to click on "FL" on the top of the webpage in between Videos and Blogs. Click on NC and there you will find the phone # to CLT ATCT. Give them a call and tell them you are interested in ATC and that you are an applicant. Have fun!

I was going to tour CLT a couple weeks ago, but the NATCA rep told me that they are so overstaffed with trainees that they aren't even looking at inner-FAA transfers, let alone the new hires. He said I could definitely still tour if I wanted to, but don't expect to get CLT. I didn't want to make the drive from Raleigh for nothing, so I respectfully turned him down on the offer.

Just curious have you heard any info regarding or considered AVL? I haven't considered calling yet for a tour/info until I'm further along in the process.

Last I heard, AVL was one shy of fully staffed with 5 eligible for retirement and 7 developmentals. I haven't considered touring because I would probably turn down an offer for there. It's only a level 6 and Asheville seems to be getting exponentially more expensive to live in over the last decade. Also, AVL is a single runway....it's not really going to prepare you very well if you want to get to a busy facility like CLT or RDU. If I was an OTS applicant I would definitely take the first offer they gave me, but every CTI grad I know of that turned down offers were given other options.

Sooo, it's 2009 and they aren't hiring. Is there ANYBODY out there w/ info on when they will be? I have PLENTY of time left on my navy contract (mar2011) to wait it out. I just want to know because I am HIGHLY interested in working there. Also any info on how to be considered when they do decide to hire would be appreciated. Thanx!!!!
