Re: Houston hobby tower (hou)
Posted: 09-10-2009, 03:20 PM I think he might of actually went up to IAH recently, I spoke to his old supervisor there. Seems like a great place to work, and small enough to get checked out quickly and not get stuck in the backlog of the bigger facilities. If anyone has any info it on HOU it would greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Re: Houston hobby tower (hou)
Posted: 09-11-2009, 07:32 PM Here is an article I wrote about Hobby Tower. Just a bunch of info about the equipment used.
Air Traffic Control Tower Tour If you are an OTS hire...it will probably take you about 12 months to check out in this tower. It is complex with crossing runways and limited radar approach that you have to do. After you check out you will probably work Tuesday, Wednesday days off or Wednesday, Thursday days off...As of right now there are staffed very well so they don't work overtime and get nice breaks. It is a great place to work, management is good to work with and the traffic is fun for the most part. |

Re: Houston Hobby Tower - HOU
Posted: 09-11-2009, 07:51 PM Great thank you very much...I have been in Contact with John a supervisor over there and he is really nice. I actually work as a Finance Manager at a highline dealer in Clear Lake and he came in and bought a car. He helped me set up a tour there about a month ago and I really enjoyed it..definetely a first choice on my list. Thanks for the great info.
