Hey, gotta make a contribution to this awesome site and all of us who are looking for the information that the ever-loving FAA either fails or refuses to volunteer!

At the risk of sounding like a kid on christmas morning..... IT WAS F*%#@*G AWESOME!
As far as rumors are concerned, i was told that nobody has been certified (CPC) since 2006 and there is a 50% washout rate, and he estimated a 12-14 month "check out", i'm assuming he meant with each developmental stage? not sure... and that's straight from the horse's mouth. When i asked how severe the "washout" technically was he said, "it depends on how you do in the lab, if you show some ability but fail the facility PV-there is a good chance you'll be assigned to another facility (i'm assuming at a lower level?)... if you fail the lab, most likely you'll be terminated from employment with the FAA."
Anywho... after sitting with one of the controllers and listening in for we pretty much ended the tour. Everyone i came in contact with really friendly. Nobody had an attitude or an arrogant demeanor and everyone wanted to say hi to me. I thanked him for his time and he said if i have any questions feel free to call the facility.

SORRY IF THIS WAS A BIT LONG-WINDED! LOL
When you called to set up the tour, did you just ask for the manager on duty and said "Hi, I'd like to come in for a tour."?

actually i had an inside route... a friend of a friend of a friend gave me me the cell phone number of one of the supervisors, so when i called him to intro myself he said if i have any questions in the future or if i wanna set up a tour to give him a call. so i said "hey i'd love to tour the facility as soon as possible"... it was very friendly, relaxed, informal. just get a contact number for the place, give em a call, and hopefully be able to get you in sometime soon.

If no one has certified since 2006....how can the washout rate be 50%?
