Reinstatement = new hire?
Posted: 01-31-2009, 06:56 PM

I applied and was selected under the reinstatement bid. I worked at A80 from Sep 06 - Jan 08. Will I be required to pay the one year of union dues to join or am I treated like a new hire with the open season on union enrollment?

Hello, There will be no one year fee if you join within 3mos,from first day. Also check that the faa gives you back any sick leave that you had. Welcome back

First post on new site, Iam a lurker. You have also already done your one year probation. Hope that issuse dose not come up. And the faa should give you a sheet to figure your good time, save that! you will need it in 23 years..

Good point. Thanks.

Yeah, I used to be on the other site quite a bit, just recently came here to check out the new one.

Doesn't seem to be as many of the old skool posters that were on the other site. I miss the knowledge and all the hate and discontent that came with it.

Most local unions will waive the one years dues even if you miss the 3 month initiation period. But that is up to the local and should be written in the bi-laws or something....but I have never heard of them not doing it for someone.
