Posted: 08-13-2009, 04:39 PM They brought back the green book minimums and lowered the green book maximums only a couple percent.
At PBI. With locality. After 3yrs. I will get a 39% raise ![]() better than the rumors. |

Re: New pay scale
Posted: 08-13-2009, 05:20 PM It's bittersweet, really. I'm happy for myself and the other devs, but am pretty annoyed our veteran brothers and sisters are getting shafted. They took a bullet for us three years ago in protesting the A/B scale. Now they're getting shafted again.
I'm shocked the arbitrators didn't award them anything. I realize that they're above the new paybands. However, they should have received something, even a 1% or 2% annual raise, if not the full 3%. I'm just afraid that many of the old guys who are eligible to retire will head for the door. They were waiting for the results of these negotiations, and, frankly, there's nothing in it for them. Sure, we've got the dress code revoked and other things like that, but where it really matters- money and retirement - they got screwed. I've never seen so many pissed off people at my facility before. The contract is great for us new guys, but won't stop - or might even accelerate - the experience dump. |

Re: New pay scale
Posted: 08-13-2009, 05:22 PM Is there going to be any change to the academy pay? A few people commented that it might go up to 35

Re: New pay scale
Posted: 08-13-2009, 06:11 PM a little raise near term, more later, the end of three years will be nice. Typical gov't though: hurry up and wait (some more)
See the part addressing the dress code? Is that big "X" over unauthorized items like, T-shirts, flip-flops, sweat suits, etc mean that that language is null and void? |

Re: New pay scale
Posted: 08-13-2009, 07:19 PM .... yeah.. that would be the next part.
it's at least good to know that with exception to a few AK/HI and CRP candidates, hardly anyone from the Chicago PEPC in March (ak/hi/5/6) has received FOL. everything's still on hold until the new numbers come out. hang in there everyone! |

Yes, our class at the academy was actually interrupted today for one of the instructors to come in and explain and give us a copy of the new pay scale. He said Academy pay will be going up as well. However, he did not state what that amount would be.
