If you want to sit there and be in denial about all their BROKEN PROMISES, and their "WE ARE GONNA FIX ITs", and "WE ARE ONEs", and all that baloney, then I am sorry to say that you will again be sadly mislead into some garbage argument that they continually try to make, while the top 5-10% of the controllers continue to make out...
This new contract only comes to us because NATCA did not negotiate and new pay scale...The did not want a two tier system, BUT KNEW it was gonna happen whether they negotiated it or not...SOOOO here we are in another F'd up situation looking at these dumbarses that supposedly have some power (actually none at all) wishing they could change this crap... OK so we get a WHOPPING 3% pay raise in January, waaahuuu!!! CIP is coming back as well, yippie we already had that before; Ohhh ya, and those who were hired prior to those imposed work rules on September 3, 2006, guess what??? You get diddly squat but an 8% raise next JUNE, not now, no retroactive, no putting you back on the pay scale you were hired under...JUST 8% and that's it...Bet those of you in the Union were banking on NATCA actually trying to do something for ya huh...ya right, they DID ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING FOR YOU AT ALL!!! Moreover, we get a yearly increase of 3% in 2011 and 2012, and YES that is it, you WILL NOT BE GETTING the Presidential increases tacked on, just 3% PERIOD...pretty crappy huh... NOW for those top 5-10%, they were whining about not getting yearly increases since the imposed work rules were inforced because it didn't get added to their base pay...B.S.!! They were getting them BUT it was a lump sum...cry me a frickin river!! NOW guess what they are getting, they get the yearly raises, which everyone deserves, but now 50% goes towards their base pay and the other 50% is a lump sum...they gonna cry now? Oh and if they are eligible to retire they get and ADDITIONAL 1%...huh...interesting... NOW if I am not mistaken those top level controllers didn't receive any pay cuts, they just got lump sums at the end of the year. Those who got royally screwed by the Agency and had their pay frozen after September 3, 2006, NOW THEY took a pay cut, wouldn't you agree? WHY DID NATCA NOT FIGHT FOR THOSE CONTROLLERS?? Because what they didn't want to negotiate a two tier system that they knew was inevitable? I mean really it is not rocket science... The top guys kept their pay, got lump sums; those hired under the green book not fully certified got the biggest bone up the you know what, and the new controllers are all struggling to get by....make a lot of scense.... I am interested in what some of you have to say..... |

Posted: 08-13-2009, 08:20 PM i may agree in spirit with some of the things you say but i believe you are incorrect about the pay increase. the three percent increase is in addition to the new pay scales that go into effect in january. minimum cpc pay is brought back to green book over three years. you might have peaked a little too early with this post.

Posted: 08-13-2009, 08:23 PM Man, I'm not complaining. I'm at an ATC 9 and the base pay of a CPC is currently 67500 with locality. And now its going up 9k a year til 2012 where the base pay with locality is going to be 93500. Which is about 2k less than what it was with the green book.
I dont know if you saw the new payscale, but its a shit ton better than it is now. |

Posted: 08-13-2009, 08:24 PM Look P to the R...I get it...but maybe you aren't realizing that many of us should already be on that pay scale, and because of that we are out quite a few 10's of thousands of dollars...think about it...the new hires may not understand it all but common now, NATCA has been filling its members with a bunch of garbage that they NEVER have ONCE follewed through on...you know why...cause they HAVE NO POWER!!!!!
