every center is different it's really impossible to predict. you won't even get to D1 until you go to your center, get checked out on your a sides, wait for a class date (could take a long time), finish class, and get your first 2 D sides. It depends if your facility does functional training, there are just way too many variables for anyone to give you any type of accurate guess.

I'd say, pretty comfortably, don't expect D1 within the first 6 months of reaching your facility. If you do it would be pretty rare, IMHO.

however, any prior VRA with 52 weeks experience will start at the D1 pay scale/band (whatever you want to call it). You WILL NOT make the same as an OTS/CTI, but be receiving what they get after the first raise.

As far as how long it takes to get checked out.... well, like they've been saying, it really matters on you and the facility. For example, you could get stuck on position, being used for manning, after your first position qualification.

Just remember this when in training: hungry mouths get fed.

So are the pay rates for 2011 and 2012 set in stone or are those charts just an estimate?

Yeah, but I don't see locality going down.

Yeah I just meant base pay. 2010's locality looks like it went up for most places.

The 2011-2012 pay scales are NOT set in stone. They will increase with the 2011-12 core comp raises. The FAA will probably fight this with no core comp raise.
