8% raise??
Posted: 08-13-2009, 11:56 PM Can someone please tell me why they would give us an 8% pay raise this coming June only to be at the bottom of the pay scale 6 months later? Am I reading the wrong?

Re: 8% raise??
Posted: 08-14-2009, 12:04 AM After that 8% raise, in January 2011 you will either get a 3% raise or a raise to the bottom of the pay band, whichever is greater. If you were an AG or D1 on September 3rd 2006, you might not get as great a benefit as someone who was a D3. Of course, that would mean you are probably a rare white-book 1440 CPC, which means you'd get the same raise in Jan 2010 as every non-1440 white-book CPC, then you'd get your 8%. Then all your other raises are based off that new figure.
It's a shit ton better than what you had. |

Re: 8% raise??
Posted: 08-14-2009, 12:07 AM no one will disagree that it is better than we had. but is it enough better than what we had compared to what we were promised. and when i say promised i mean, offered in a written contract (FOL) and signed for in a binding contract sort of way.

Re: 8% raise??
Posted: 08-14-2009, 12:18 AM I gotcha, and I feel for ya. But you will be much closer to what you were promised much sooner than post 9/3/06 hires. It's not perfect, but we agreed to binding arbitration because the same shitheads who "negotiated" the white book negotiated in 2009 and wouldn't budge on pay.
Read the introduction to the award. It explains why we got what we got pretty well. |

yes, for more time in service. I currently make $99,xxx and have been in since 2005. A CPC that checks out this year makes $93,xxx. It's called moving up the payband. I'd imagine they would take this into account, but my gut tells me they won't

Re: 8% raise??
Posted: 08-14-2009, 12:45 AM Of the 1440, I'm betting that relatively few were D2's. Sounds like y'all got lost in the shuffle, as the arbitrators just tried to throw a bone to the whole group. Make sure you let your Facrep hear about it. It looks like you're right, the AG's, D1's and D3's all make out better than the D2's. This can probably be addressed. The ARB panel will be available for this kind of thing for the next three years.
