Effective October 1st??????
Posted: 08-18-2009, 03:36 PM Just got an email from a facrep saying that if the CBA is ratified than it will go into effect October 1st of this year. Does anyone else know more about this?
Does that statement include pay...or will that have to wait until 2010? |

Re: Effective October 1st??????
Posted: 08-18-2009, 03:40 PM The pay was set in arbitration to begin Jan 1, regardless of the rest of the contract. I would imagine the ratified contract would go into effect as soon as possible.

Re: Effective October 1st??????
Posted: 08-18-2009, 07:28 PM i've heard Oct 1st also, that is if the contract is ratified. i don't see why it wouldn't. actually, word at our facility is that were actually gonna be able to follow the old (new) dress code on the sunday prior to october 1st. we will see.
pay has nothing with the TAU articles. the TAU articles are the ONLY things we will be ratifying. pay is set in stone because it was binding arbitration. |

Re: Effective October 1st??????
Posted: 08-18-2009, 08:07 PM "Pat Forrey advised us today that he had a conversation with the mediation panel and the FAA concerning the effective date of the CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement aka Contract) following ratification. The ratification count will take place on September 23, 2009. It was agreed that the effective date of the new CBA will be October 1, 2009; the beginning of the fiscal year. " - WestPac RVP
CIP will also start Oct. 1st. |

Re: Effective October 1st??????
Posted: 08-18-2009, 11:05 PM At the natca meet and great today they said that everything but the new payscales go into effect oct 1st even the stuff that was decided by arbitration. The reason the payscale wont take effect until Jan is because it will take HR a while to impliment the changes. In 06 the new pay was determined in July and didn't go into effect until Sep for the same reason.
Anyway that is what the negotiation team said at the meet and great. AW |

Re: Effective October 1st??????
Posted: 08-19-2009, 07:25 AM The schoolhouse is not covered under the TAU/arbitatration decision because new hire students at the academy are NOT Bargaining Unit Employees. The FAA can make what ever rules they like about academy dress code. Now what may make it hard for the FAA is the fact there are a lot of up/down controllers who are BUE's who go back to OKC for RTF after completing the tower training. So having two separate dress codes could get ugly.
