Question about the new pay scale...
Posted: 08-21-2009, 06:07 PM

I have seen a few people write that new hire VRA's get automatic D1 pay. Can someone direct me to where this is in writing, say the part of the new contract that talks about this? Any info is appreciated!

C. For a Military or DOD Civilian controller with 52 consecutive weeks
experience as a certified air traffic controller that completes training at the
Academy (if required) and reports to their assigned facility, pay will be set at
the minimum of the lowest developmental level pay band for the assigned
ATC facility.

under definitions.

that's what I thought, but everyone I've talked to here seems to believe we'll be getting a bump up to D1 in January. I'm hoping they're right, but I'm not sweating it either way. I'll find out when I get my paycheck one way or another. That'll tell me how payroll is interpreting it..... haha

I thought it was basically prior-experienced controllers(MIL/DOD)... not all VRA hires.

The agreement says Those with 52 weeks' experience are bumped to lowest Developmental level. It's on page 26/27 of the PDF.

Guess my question is: I meet the criteria for what we're discussing here. If I'm getting paid at D1, what happens when I get my 25% of ratings?

I would imagine you stay at D1 until you reach D2.

I don't like imagining. If it was up to me, I'd imagine I'd get a raise...

haha.
