so its a yes, right? If so, say you are going to a level 5 facility, and the lowest level is d3. You would start at that, right?

If you have prior ATC experience then yes... you will start at D3 pay after you graduate from the academy. (assuming there is no D1 or D2 at your facility)

must be nice. Looks like the rest of us VRA that were hired before oct 1 will be making less than the new hires. Gotta love the FAA. I am glad that the new VRA's get this though.

I doubt that this is true, everyone that comes from the academy to their initial facility has always started as a D1, when they certified on their first two control positions (except at VFR Towers) they earned D2, then when they certified on I believe 75% or 80% of control positions they earned D3.

I'd wait until you see official word from NATCA before you start spending the money.

Actually, everyone that comes from the academy to their facility is at the AG level, with the exception of VRA and REINST. They report at D1, or the lowest level above AG if the facility doesn't have D1/D2, etc.... I know I'm not a controller yet but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express, and have reviewed the pay info pretty thoroughly.

Maybe I shouldve been more clear with my thread. I know about the new contract and what it is says about the D1 for prior experience. My question is that I heard that the article is going back to arbitration to include those prior experienced controllers hired before Oct 1, and if anyone has heard the same or has any other details. My rep apparently has seen a letter referencing this. Thx.
