from what it sounds like this was completely preposterous, firing a guy for not being able to make it there...

They are out of control. Today I heard the NATCA pres. tried to get a copy of the Dev. files, and the Chief would not give them to him. The Chief also claimed the Dev. had to take a few test over, which I happened to know first hand is false considering that I have been sitting next to this guy since OKC. He was in the DYSIM with me, and hes better then me and the other Dev. in our area. If anything he was over confident, but not in a way of him thinking he knew everthing, in a sort of defient way. In a way that I could see rubbing an insecure supervisor the wrong way. And when he did not come into work after they told him they were not approving any leave what so ever. They told him your either at work or in a ditch on the side of the road. And he still said the roads are too dangerous, and would not be able to make it, I imagine that is what set this in motion.
