They are out of control. Today I heard the NATCA pres. tried to get a copy of the Dev. files, and the Chief would not give them to him. The Chief also claimed the Dev. had to take a few test over, which I happened to know first hand is false considering that I have been sitting next to this guy since OKC. He was in the DYSIM with me, and hes better then me and the other Dev. in our area. If anything he was over confident, but not in a way of him thinking he knew everthing, in a sort of defient way. In a way that I could see rubbing an insecure supervisor the wrong way. And when he did not come into work after they told him they were not approving any leave what so ever. They told him your either at work or in a ditch on the side of the road. And he still said the roads are too dangerous, and would not be able to make it, I imagine that is what set this in motion.

I can see that, they couldn't handle someone who was a natural controller and knew it when they struggled perhaps...

Defiant is not the right attitude to have, but when you're working with natural controllers their ego is gonna show up one way or another.... I can see them now thinking, "he's gonna tell us what's safe or not for the last time" I believe it when he said it was not safe. it's too bad some of the naturals have a hard time with tact and diplomacy around the shallow leaders, we need people who are good controllers, I know I'd rather have someone over confident whos willing to walk away or call unsafe "unsafe" controlling me when I'm flying than a marginally skilled thin skinned controller/flm....who's set on "proving" themself in their attempt to fit a square peg in a round hole...
