I have applied for a pilot position in a Cessna T206 with my employer. They will train the candidate to commerical w/ IFR for insurance reasons. I do not have a license right now but have gone in for a class II med. cert. It turns out I'm taking a medication for 'restless leg syndrome' (mirapex) that is a disqualifying med. There is only 1 other med (requip) for this condition and is also disqualifying. The side effect is fatique (which I do not experience to any great degree). Does anyone out there know if I have any options such as an appeal or letters of recommendation from my physician Please let me know if you can help.

Replace your scrip with jack daniels, just watch out for the 8 hour rule. Seriously though, the FAA takes the prescription drug thing very seriously. I doubt what you take would be considered waiverable. Better learn to live with your RLS if you want to be a pilot. Good luck.
