Looking at the FAA's pay bands (faaimposedpayrules.natca.net/art108_a4_pay.htm) even at an ATC-12 you would be earning $74,950 once fully certified.
And this is if they let you fully certify. We're hearing more and more stories where the FAA is getting people certified on two positions then letting them stagnate at that level for a year or more ... making them staff radars.

As I stated I was generalizing but I am specifically aware of ATC6 controllers newly certified earning about 55K gross. As far as ATC12 for newbies I was very clear I thought in pointing out the unlikelyhood of one going there off the street and disscussed a general washout rate of about 40% for all facilities. I do not have the new pay scale memorized but was just estimating the base plus locality, differentials, holidays etc 5 yrs from now, the earliest this guy could possibly certify. Figure 2% raise in base per year for the new people. My response was intentionally vague as he/she was just asking first timer questions. Not trying to spread misinformation.
