Air Traffic Control is a great career. Good pay. Good benefits. You start with 2 1/2 weeks vacation leave and 2 1/2 weeks of sick leave a year. Good compared to most private sector jobs. The working conditions are either in a control room or a tower cab. Shift work does take a toll after twenty years but I knew what the job entailed before I signed up with the FAA. There is always room for improvment but I think overall I would highly recommend the job.

I have mixed emotions. If the work environment i see today stays around, i wouldn't recommend the job to anybody for any price. Nobody with a college education should demean themselves working for today's FAA. Go earn your money else where and get your weekends off, nights off, holidays off, etc..

If the work environment returns to one of civility, i might recommend the job.

Like i said - mixed emotions. If i knew then what i know now, i'm not sure i'd take this job.
