New Airline/Airport Security
Posted: 12-29-2009, 02:16 AM I am sure everyone has heard of the latest terrorist attempt on board a US bound airliner. Like always our government has issued what in my opinion are useless knee jerk reaction rules.
The new rules supposedly require passengers on international flights coming into the US stay in their seats for the past hour staring at the seat in front of them with no blankets, pillows, etc... I did see on various news sites however that this was occurring on domestic flights as well. Pilots are also not allowed to say where they are or have GPS displays on the passenger TV's on. Then there is of course the unknown extra security being done by the TSA. The airline industry has been in bad shape for a long time now and the government is only making things worse by making it unbearable to fly. Why should I pay hundreds of dollars to be treated like a criminal from the time I get to the airport till my plane lands. I think its time to dust off the old pilot license and ratings and start flying myself or start taking amtrak. I understand the need for security in the world we live in today. It is starting to go too far though. "Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither" Ben Franklin 1775 |
