Hi all,

In Switzerland, Skyguide is still recruiting ATCO's. If you're are speaking neither swiss-german, nor french, TWR/APP and ACC Lower sectors' doors are closed to you, but there's still the Upper area opened, as these sectors are english only.

Geneva is controlling the western part of Switzerland plus delegated airspace from France, and Zurich is in charge of eastern Switzerland. For more information, check the website skyguide Internet, and if you're interested contact Karin Rupp per email (karin.rupp [at] skyguide.ch).

So I've been reading bits and pieces and it seems like a real mission to become a controller over in Europe. I really don't want to go through the military route. I'm currently a student at an ATCTI school but I'm only a couple semesters in. If it means starting from scratch over there then I'll do it but if I getting my degree here helps enough to the point that makes it worth it's while, then I'll finish before going over to Europe. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! =D

I went for Testing at EUROCONTROL while im a CTI grad here....

If you pass their hard tests all 3 phases....then you get accepted into a 2 year academy. This is in Maastricht, Holland...kind of like iowa here lol. And yes citizenship required from EU states.

You do get paid while in it, but it is 2 years.
My flight, meal and hotel was all paid for. Unforutunately, they have much more difficult tests then here in USA and i did not pass.

All other countries like Canada, Ireland, New Zealand...etc you have to be citizens of....go to google and type in air traffic control...you will find direct govt sites regarding atc in that country at the botttom...pretty cool thing they got.
