International ATC Issues
Posted: 06-04-2012, 11:15 PM Hi guys,
I`ve been looking for a while for a solution, and looks like I am just with no stuck here. I`m basically from Tahiti, therefore a French citizen. However, I am now studying ATC @ MtSAC, California. The problem is I am going to graduate next year, and won`t be able to work; not even get my CTO. Do you have any ideas on how can I get out of that situation ? Or which countries will be willing to take me with that license ? Thank you |

Posted: 06-05-2012, 01:05 AM As you probably figured out unless you are a US citizen you can't get a job as a controller in the U.S.
To obtain a job in Europe they require you to have an ICAO license which means either going to one of their schools, or if you are real lucky getting hired by a contractor that will issue you an ICAO license. |

Re: International ATC Issues
Posted: 06-06-2012, 01:12 AM Regretfully the contractors in Afghanistan will not provide you with an ICAO license because they know that most of the controllers would quit for European controller jobs as soon as they have that ICAO license in hand.

Posted: 06-07-2012, 05:27 AM Midwest will not issue you a CTO card or sign your pink facility rating card, they should but I've never received a valid answer as to why they don't.
