Hello,

I was just wondering if there are ever any opportunities for certified controllers to work overseas for a given amount of time etc and to then return to your home facility (although I realize the inherent difficulty in this perhaps, learning all the rules and nuances of a new facility and then retraining upon returning to your home facility may be necessary.) Do foreign countries ever hire American controllers for professional duty? To train controllers in their own countries? Or opportunities even to work/train on a foreign located U.S. military base with ATC operations? Just curious I guess.

Military deployments are very common overseas when active duty... I worked in Japan for 3 years on active duty and never saw a non-Japanese citizen working their facilities. I know for a fact that Europe requires you to be a citizen of a European country, I worked USAF in Italy for 3 years also.

Only way I know of in a civilian world is contract towers in Europe/middle east. Pretty sure we dont have any in Japan.

The USMC bases have DOD controllers.
