Ok I know I promised to blog about my experiences at the Link Academy but I been very very Lazy. So Here's a little update. So Its been about 4 months since my last update I finally took the CTO written Exam on 7/13/09 and we just got our results back. I made a 97, It was 75 questions long and almost every question was verbatim from the CTO Study guide. So If anyone is worried about that test don't be. It will be the easiest exam you will ever take. Took me 30 mins. maybe less. The only way you are not going to pass this test is if you didn't pay attention from day one, or didn't take 2 hours to go over the CTO study guide. There were two questions in the exam that was not written verbatim but you should still know the answer. Don't ask me why I missed two questions I think I was rushing through it. We had scheduling conflicts with the FAA Examiner so we had to take it like 2 weeks after our original exam date so I was pretty antsy to get it done. Anyway I shouldn't have rush through it. When you take it take your time. Well after we get our CTO results we are now legally able to train in the tower. We actually started training in the tower before we took the CTO so I guess that was a no no. But we are back on schedule now. I was actually able to get checked out on GC/CD/FD before we took the CTO written exam so all I had to do was get re-certified when I got my exam score back. Now I am on a work schedule that mirrors my trainers schedule to train on Local. KGYI is a 7-7 tower so I work Tues-Thurs 11am-7pm and Fri-Sat 7am-3pm off Sun-Mon. Local Control has been fun but I have problems making traffic calls. Being that we are a VFR tower with know BRITE OR DBRITE it is very important to make traffic calls. Right now that is my biggest roadblock. If you guys have any technique that can help me let me know. I am hoping to get checked out on Local by the end of September or earlier. Oh, I believe that county/airport is in the process of finalizing a deal that is bring a flight school to the airport so by the end of September we should be getting a lot of good traffic for training. Also on October 3 we have an Areobatic Competition comming in so we should have alot of operations to deal with. Thats it for now. I just hope to be fully checked out soon.

Thanks for reading.
