Radar vs Tower

I just transferred ANG units to take an ATC slot. Found out after signing on the dotted line that I have been put into a radar slot. Considering I will not be able to obtain a CTO while in a radar slot, how screwed am I? What can I do with radar rating? I'm not exactly happy right now, so I'd love to hear what my options are.

you can still get an FAA job, but you must have had your ratings for 52 consecutive weeks within the past 2 years, or something like that. But ya, you're okay with just a radar cert.

7110.65 AKA the ATC Bible. Filled with rules and regulations and the most boring thing in the world to read. Its many pages make it a great way to start fires though.

4 years tower, 5 years radar. My opinion....I love radar. It's like playing a video game, you just can't screw up.
