Just an update
Posted: 06-18-2009, 10:26 PM Hey everyone! I don't know if your care about my progress, and that's just fine
I'm going to post it anyway. To get you up to speed: I went to MEPS and got kicked out due to high heart rate. Anyway, I heard back from my recruiter and I am now supposed to go to my doctor and get my pulse taken at the same time of day for 3 days in a row. Then I need to set up an EKG with MEPS. Once I get that done I'll be able to figure out if I actually have Tachycardia or not and then will make my way into signing up for ATC. |

Ive taken my pulse many times since Ive been to meps and every time its been under 100 bpm which is perfect, in fact its 80 right now. To my understanding Tachycardia as a pulse over 100BPM. When I went to meps I was hardly able to sleep the night before and I found out I had a temperature of 99, that's why I believe I don't actually have Tachycardia. So as long as my pulse is under 100 for the three tests, and the EKG dosen't show anything then I should be able to get in no problem. But its still stressful and annoying! |

And with the EKG, youll be fine since your heart rate is sustaining under 100. Thats the main thing. Unless your having PVCs or something. Even then, I dont think that would be a big deal. You might also be in differant rhythem other than Sinus, but I would think you would know. Most people who have something other than Normal Sinus Rhythm usually feel some sort of discomfort. Not sure, but I think someone was talking about SVT(Supra Ventricular Tachycardia). Maybe he was talking about something else. I doubt you have that because that really doesnt feel good and your heart rate has to be sustaining over 150bpm. And can lead to a fatal rhythm, usually V-Tach. I think the doc would have sent you to the hospital if you had SVT. Good Luck Bro!!! |

Re: Just an update
Posted: 07-01-2009, 07:47 PM Just got back from my second installment of MEPS, this time for a medical consult. And after my EKG it seems I have borderline Tachycardia , the doctor wants to do more tests but I think that's more for me then the Air Force.
