Ask the USAF ATC Instructor!

If you wanna go they will be more than happy to make that happen. The Air Force usually will let you take someones spot that doesnt want to go or someone slotted to go will get pregnant (always happens). Wait until you get your 5 level then deploy ATC; that will be a much better experince than security.

I'll be at tech school soon enough however my question refers to the base I want to be stationed at. I'd like to be stationed is the south however I also wanted to be at a base with a good amount of traffic. I was thinking Robins AFB or Hurlburt AFB. Have you or any others here heard anything good or bad about these?

Can you tell me about USAF ATC school slots for 2010. I've been retired from USAF ATC/TERPS for over 12 years so I'm really out of touch with things. I have a 22 year old Son who is talking about joining the USAF For ATC. He talking about going into the delayed enlistment program. I told him that would be good as long as the AF Recruiter guarantees ATC. Any recommendation would greatly be appreciated. He is planning on going in Mid Jul 2010

I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on Tinker AFB. My husband is supposed to go there when he finishes tech school. He just started radar though, so he has quite a bit left.

Is Tinker tower only or do they have rapcon?
It looks like a pretty large base. Do they have a lot of traffic?
Also, is the tower open 24hr or do they have certain operating hours?

Choose only ATC. It's called guaranteed and not open general. Do not sign unless guaranteed. He is lying to you. Find a different recruiter.

Only put down ATC (1C1X1), if they refuse to accept that walk out of MEPS. You have committed to nothing that you cant get out of until you swear in the day you ship out to basic. If your already in DEP you still can get out but your going to have to harass your recruiter since they dont want people doing that.

hey speedie i just got non-vold for instructor duty..how long is the instructor school and whats that like? how do u know if you teach fundies or the labs?

I am cross training into ATC, my class date is 20 Sep 2010. What should I expect as a SSgt in the class room as well as Mtn. Home AFB as my first base for ATC?
