Joiningg the Guard while in FAA
Posted: 12-15-2009, 08:28 AM I depart active duty enlisted after 10 years next year and was wondering if it was safe to join the Guard to finish the last 10? My goal is to get a FAA job some where out in Texas if i can or maybe FL. Does the FAA hire Guard members? Do they dislike those individuals more? any info would be nice.
Thanks, marc |

Re: going Guard? while in FAA?
Posted: 12-15-2009, 09:14 AM Go for it. A lot of us on StuckMic are reservists/Guard members. They have to allow you to do it.

Re: going Guard? while in FAA?
Posted: 12-15-2009, 02:45 PM I'm Navy Reserve. Couldn't tell you about the specific guard stuff. I'm fairly certain you can combine your active and reserve years for the combined 20 for retirement. There are a lot of guys on here that are controllers in the air guard who would be able to answer your questions better. I'd wait for their responses.
