ANG ATC spots available?
Posted: 01-12-2010, 12:39 PM Hello,
If anyone could direct me to any available ATC slots currently w/the ANG that would be very much appreciated. Been lurking on here a while so thank you for any information anyone has! I have taken the ASVAB and done MEPS got 99s and 98's and passed my MEPS. I currently live in CA but am willing to relocate anywhere to get an ATC slot through the ANG...is this common for people to do? 2nd I've got a list of 10 ATC units throughout the country if anyone is aware of me missing any please let me know: PA,SC,NC,NH,HI,WY,MO,LA,MS,OR If anyone knows of any ANG squadrons currently seeking ATC please let me know and for those of you that have gone this route is it just about calling and getting lucky finding a slot? or did you leave your contact info w/recruiters and follow up every few weeks and then get one that way. I've gotten in touch with about 6 of these locations and nobody is looking for ATC's. Any help is appreciated! |

Re: ANG ATC spots available?
Posted: 01-15-2010, 07:05 PM All I can suggest is to call the individual squadrons that you're looking at joining. They are normally very friendly, but the information I've gotten from a few of them is that there's a waiting list, or they're waiting for slots to periodically open up. Just establish a good relationship with the recruiter right off the bat, and keep checking in. You might be waiting in line for awhile, but the opportunities are there if you get all of your paperwork squared away for when a slot opens up....that way you just jump in and go from there.

Re: ANG ATC spots available?
Posted: 02-08-2010, 10:28 PM The following states have ATC units...
1. Klamath Falls Oregon (My unit) 2. Wyoming 3. North Carolina 4. South Carolina 5. Mississippi 6. Louisiana 7. Missouri 8. Pennsylvania 9. New Hampshire 10...Hawaii Most units have a waiting list. But if you are interested get on the waiting list, and something will open up. These are not full time positions though, they are Drill Status, which is one weekend a month and two weeks a year usually during the summer for Annual Training. I am in the Oregon unit out of Klamath Falls, and also work DOD there for a short time longer, and am transferring into the FAA here on 31 March. If you have any questions shoot me a PM. |
