Pay and Spouse info
Posted: 01-19-2010, 02:31 PM I am about to be married and will be leaving for BMT in April. Will I get dependent pay due to our child while in BMT? Also, Will my wife be able to get on base and use the facilities?

Posted: 01-19-2010, 09:02 PM yes. you will get bah(basic allowance for housing for whatever zip code your wife lives in.... i would personally just write san fran... but you might get caught. so dont do that.) pay with dependents and POSSIBLY family sep pay. dunno how long its required to be away from your family to receive that. the family separation pay is like $250 a month, well it was when i went through boot camp. and google military bah to find the current amount for your zip code. select whatever rank you will be when you enter, and then select WITH DEPENDENTS. you will get these no matter if you are married or not because you have a kid. but having your marriage certificate would be smart.
not sure what she would have to do to get on base while you are in boot camp. because she will need to get on a base to get her military ID, maybe they have something set up for that? maybe they dont. your recruiter should definitely be able to answer these questions. |
