I was referring to the Phoenix program, yes. I don't know too much about it, but thought it may be an option.

I looked a bit more, think you can only use that phoenix program stuff if you actually retire.

As a fellow single mom wanting to get into the filed - I'm so glad you brought this up. I too have been debating on what to do. I am curious as to the whole military thing. I grew up military and as far as I understood you cannot be a single mom in the military. If you go in you would have to sign your rights over. I am not willing to do that so the only route I knew of was CTI (because I've been well informed by many that getting in off the street is near impossible nowadays). I was accepted to Embry Riddle but I'm paranoid to spend all that money and then not be able to do the shift work just anywhere. So to add with the questions - when you are done with the academy - do you have any say as to where you go to train/work? I have a support system in the Orlando Area and my kids father is near Richmond. Any specific places you have to go?

Save your money, if you want a good CTI school there are many more that don't cost anywhere near what ER does.

thanks for the advice. I researched the program in jacksonville and that seems way more realistic for my finances!
