Re: best option for a 26 year old single mom?

If your going CTI, you might not get the job right after graduation. Usually it takes up to a year. Current situation in FAA is really bad because of the Raytheon Contractors who fired many of the remote pilots and instructors. So there is a long line in training for those who got in earlier. This means facilities aren't taking in people as much as they did before.

I am not willing to do that so the only route I knew of was CTI (because I've been well informed by many that getting in off the street is near impossible nowadays). I was accepted to Embry Riddle but I'm paranoid to spend all that money and then not be able to do the shift work just anywhere. So to add with the questions - when you are done with the academy - do you have any say as to where you go to train/work? I have a support system in the Orlando Area and my kids father is near Richmond. Any specific places you have to go?
You are mislead. You CAN be a single mom in the military and you will not have to "sign your rights away." That would be highly prejudicial. Regardless, in the event of a deployment your command will require you to make a family care plan that details who will be taking care of your child in your absence.
