NATIONAL AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS ASSOCIATION (NATCA)
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 29, 2009

WASHINGTON ? NATCA lends its enthusiastic support for AFL-CIO President to Richard L. Trumka, a loyal activist for working men and women
everywhere. Currently serving his fourth term as Secretary-Treasurer with the AFL-CIO, Trumka served for three terms as the President of the United Mine Workers of America before being elected to his current position in 1995.

Trumka has dedicated himself to upholding the retirement-security of America?s working families with his creation of the AFL-CIO Capital [artadright][/artadright]Stewardship Program. Committing himself to the preservation of the fair treatment of America?s workers, Trumka brings the experience, foresight and progressive outlook needed to uphold and advance American Labor.

Said NATCA President Patrick Forrey: ?Richard Trumka?s support for NATCA and all working men and women makes him not only the perfect candidate to uphold the union legacy that President John Sweeney has so carefully protected but the right man to bring the labor movement into this new era of economic uncertainty.?

?A long-time champion of the labor movement, Trumka has spent a lifetime fighting for the fair treatment of America?s workers and I know he will continue with his commitment to re-energize the labor movement and serve us well.?
