newsId=55769 "Under the student loan repayment program, approved permanent employees would be eligible for up to $10,000 per calendar year — with an overall maximum of $60,000 — to help repay certain loans under Title V of the Higher Education Act. “There are quite a number of loans that are covered,” said Sharon Burks, manager of human resources policy. “For example, there are federal Stafford loans, federal Plus loans, federal consolidation loans, William D. Ford direct loans, and the federal Perkins loan program.”"
The Catch
"Burks says the program will serve as a recruitment tool for hard-to-fill positions, as well as a retention tool for highly qualified employees already in the agency."
