I am currently a Financial Analyst at a hospital that I have been working at since graduating college...After 3 years of working this job, I have realized it is not for me...I have always been interested in aviation and I am currently looking into a career as a ATC...I have set up an appointment at a local FAA accredited school to get more information...If someone could answer a few questions for me, I would appreciate it...All responses are welcome (i.e. insults, jokes, good answers)...Thanks for your help I have listed a few questions below..

1. I am currently 28 (will be 29 in may 2008)...I have completed my Bachelor's degree and have 3 years work...I know the cut-off age is 30...Would I have enough time to finish the program before the age cut-off date

2. When I was in highschool, I got arrested when I just turned 18...All charges where dropped...Would being arrested but not convicted restrict me from being able to become a ATC

3. After doing a little research, It seems that I can take the initial FAA aptitude test and then apply for the FAA training school (without going through a FAA accredited program)...Is this true Should I get initial training through a program or just try and get in

Thanks for your responses...I maybe in the wrong fourm to ask these types of questions, so direct me to where they can be answered...
Thanks

At your age, no way in hell would I risk the time and money on any CTI schooling. Just apply for a vacancy announcement aimed at the general public. The FAA is desperate for bodies. I can't address the arrest issue, but my best advice is to be 100 percent honest. otherwise you might get fired.
