I had 10 years of tower/tracon experience from the military and a FCT and I still went and got something out of going to the academy for tower training and then again at RTF. At first I thought it would suck and be a "phraseology" refresher only but I was wrong. IF you go with an open mind and expect nothing you will walk out of there with more tools then you ever thought of having plus some new friendships. It really wasn't a wast of time.
