I believe in a better place, and that you can't get there while alive. These things can be argued all day, but it comes down to how you would feel being the person in the bed. Not the parents or the husband, but a moaning husk of what you once were that can't even feed or care for yourself.
This is the reason we should all have a living will- it should be mandatory to state how you would want to be treated in any unfortunate circumstance that left you unable to care for yourself.
