"lasrn" If I speak to you as father to father Id say encourage your son to finish his degree no matter how he does it. He can always fall back on a degree to help in the future. As far as pay is concerned he will make between 60-80K after certification. Problem is not everyone makes it. My advise would be to seek a facility at the ATC7-8 level, preferably a terminal radar and go from there. This will increase the chances of success and afford the opportunity to move up and WHERE he wants in the future. Remember the first cetification is the most important.
