I heard from a somewhat credible source that they are waiving the maximum hiring age for ATC because of the manning situation. Is this true Or is someone handing me a line If it is true, how long does anyone think they are going to extend the waiver I was scheduled to separate the military in 2006, but I had a family to feed, and NOOOOO job offers anywhere. I raised my right hand, and lo and behold, here comes my acceptance letter 2 weeks too late. I separate the Air Force in 2010, I will be 31 1/2....how about that timing

Apply via the Secretary of the Air Force, for a discharge under Plenary Authority (Plenary = All encompasing). Look in your separations manual, not sure what the fly boys call it, but it is in there.

Better yet, have fun, stick it out another 9 years and we'll see you when you get here. The pay is better in the military right now anyway.

Good luck. Thanks for your service.
