Kid Controller At JFK?
Posted: 03-03-2010, 05:00 PM Bring your-kid-to-work-day took on a decidedly different turn last week when a tower controller at New York's JFK evidently had a child communicate with aircraft on the outbound local frequency. Recorded audio reveals the child made a handful of transmissions?obviously coached?and the controller said on the frequency "that's what you get guys when the kids are out of school." Re: Kid Controller At JFK?
Posted: 03-05-2010, 11:51 AM This is being blown way out of per portion. I use to go on the mid shift with dad when i was 6 years old and always talked to the pilots! It was no big deal! Ok maybe there should be a little slap on the wrist but this is getting out of control. The kid was being coached on exactly what to say with is father sitting right there! What is the difference in that and a developemental walking in day one not certified on anything and giving an aircraft a freq change??? Not a whole lot
