I couldn't think of any more acronyms to throw in title

Got this email today.

As I stated last month, I am going to try to keep everyone up-to-date on any changes or try to answer some frequently asked questions. If you have any other questions, please let me know.

1. I am turning age 31 within the next couple of months, will that effect my being hired?

Your aging stopped at the time the tentative offer letter was issued, as long as you do not decline.

2. My drug test is either expired or about to expire, when do I refresh my drug test?

Your drug test expiring is not a major problem. It only takes about a couple of days to receive the results from the drug coordinators. To minimize any inconveniences to you and to help keep the cost to the agency down, when we have a class date available for you we will contact you and have you refresh at that time.

3. Can I refresh my medical to remain current?

As with the drug refresh, to minimize inconveniences and to keep costs down, until we are reasonably assured that we have an Academy seat to offer, we will not refresh medicals.

4. How long are my clearances good for?

The drug test is good for six months. Medical (physical and psychological) is good for one year. Security is good for two years.

5. If I request to be redirected to another facility, can I get into the Academy quicker?

The slow down is nationwide, neither Terminal or EnRoute are entertaining redirect requests at this time.

6. Could you tell me where I am on the list to get into the Academy?

We schedule Academy class dated based on TOL dates. Place "in-line" is impacted as other applicants decline offers or cannot obtain required clearances, so the list is an ever-changing situation.

7. When will we know about FY 2011 hiring/class scheduling?

Hiring number are not received until late August/early September.

8. When does my tentative offer expire?

A TOL does not expire. If you are no longer interested in the position or the location, you can decline the TOL, and at which time your offer will be cancelled. Also, your offer will no longer be valid if you cannot obtain and maintain the required clearances. Please note - if you decline an offer when made, then your file will be marked as a declination and you will have to reapply for future considerations when available.

9. I have a TOL and took my ATSAT several years ago, when will I have to retest?

You no longer need to be concerned about the ATSAT test, it was for initial screening only.

10. Do you need a copy of my Official College Transcript or DD 214 (Member Copy 4)?

Absolutely. Please ensure you have sent one or both, if applicable, as soon as possible. If you are not sure that we have one or other, or both, on file, please send me an e-mail asking if I have copies and I will let you know if I have it/them.

11. When do you think another General Public/Off the Street announcement will be released?

There is not one projected to be released anytime soon.

So is this the first anybody else is hearing anything about sending college transcripts?

Back when I initially applied online on the ASAP website I put in college/degree history etc, but that was the last mention of any of that until I received this e-mail from MG today.

Good thing I found out now, as opposed to later this year, after waiting two + years, I get a class date, but get held up cause my transcripts aren't in.

Just kind of with at some point prior to this I would have been told those would have been needed.

I have MG and she had me send my transcripts in months ago. I think she sent me an email just before the PEPC in August regarding my transcripts.

I got this email today, too. Got excited when I saw her name in my inbox. Damn.

That is certainly not a surprise. There are too many OTS applicants waiting in the pipeline right now... releasing more PUBNATs would only make things worse.

Thanks for posting. You almost get the idea they trolled around SM to see which threads had the most comments, then wrote the questions based on that.

And yeah, they told me at the PEPC that I would need to submit college transcripts. Dug those out and sent them in last June...

I didn't find out until the day I was going to get my FOL. She called and said she had a date for me, and that they just needed a copy of my college transcript. Luckily I had an official copy in my basement and scanned it all in.

I believe that you only have to send in a copy of your transcript if you're using education to substitute for work experience. I have a bachelor's degreee, but qualified with just my work experience, so they didn't need transcripts.

I'm not sure if they have my transcripts or not. Not really sure if it matters at this point though...
