October Panel update...
Posted: 03-04-2010, 10:15 AM I was selected at the OCT 2009 panel. I interviewed at the end of NOV, TOL late JAN. Just got an email stating that my clearances were all good and that I am just waiting on a class date. I called my HR Rep(which is awesome) and was told a estimate of June timeframe for class. Just thought everyone who was selected would like to know.

Posted: 03-04-2010, 11:31 AM Where are you going? I've been sitting on a TOL since June 09 and wont have a class date until FY11 at the earliest. I'm curious where things are moving as fast as your HR reps says they are.

Posted: 03-04-2010, 12:36 PM I don't understand why is the the hiring process taking so long? If a student scored WQ on the AT-SAT, Graduated from a CTI school, filled out applications correctly the FIRST time, and pasted/cleared his or her interviews/evaluations with flying colors, why in the world are people waiting over a year for an academy date?? I'm very curious on what states are a lot of CTI students/ other applicants selecting? As for me, I will select states that have MANY facilities just to get in the door, then worry about tranfering to a desired facility

Posted: 03-04-2010, 01:13 PM It's taking so long bc everybody is backed up with trainees. There aren't any "foot in the door" states to pick anymore. Just pick where you want and hope for the best.

Posted: 03-04-2010, 01:31 PM Exactly right - the terminal staffing average is close to 118% (not sure on Enroute - but they have their own issues with ERAM transition). The que of TOL's already issued and waiting for OKC classes also has to be processed first. Then there is the ongoing "adjustments" in the system from the new hires (2007-2009) that were placed into ATC11-12s and are not attaining facility certification.
