Your initial appointment is a Temporary Excepted Appointment not to exceed (NTE) 13 months, pending your successful completion of air traffic controller training. Upon successful completion of this initial training and all other requirements for continued employment, including all evaluations required by the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), you may be converted to a permanent, full-time appointment as:

Position: Air Traffic Control Specialist, AT-2152-IC

Type of Appointment: Excepted-Conditional; full-time, permanent

Salary: $41,451 per annum, which includes 23.00% COLA

The effective date of your appointment will be determined upon successful completion of a series of pre-employment clearances. The pre-employment clearance process includes the following:

Since obtaining these pre-employment clearances can be a lengthy process, we strongly recommend that you take no actions at this time that would affect your current employment status if you are employed. Instructions on how to accept this tentative job offer and initiate these required clearances are enclosed.

To begin the hiring process paperwork, attached is a checklist that contains a list for forms that you will need to fill out and provide to our office. You have to wait 10 years for a TOL but only have 10 days to send back a lot of paperwork. Isn't that nice?
