Sorry, got busy today.

Basically, I'm definitely going to have to find a job to hold me over. I was told the earliest class date I'll get is March 11. Fun times.

The news I'd heard was that there would be developmentals at the center in March, July and August with only 20 going next year at this point. If there are are going to be newbies there in March someone might be able to snag a Novemberish class date. My roommate heard this at a meeting where he specifically asked about when new people were coming because they're getting fairly short staffed.

People who are about to have a clearance expire get first priority.

Dibbs! j/k guys, I hope we all get to the academy soon. March is a definite bummer... I'm also going to have to get a temporary job. No idea what it will be.

I emailed M.G. yesterday, heard back this morning. I was also told March for a class date.

Here's to hoping someone cancels in an earlier class.

I talked to M.G. this morning to see if March was still the anticipated month for class. She told me again that March is the earliest and she could get me in but she couldn't guarantee it. She said that she would have to go through the list of other people waiting and get those in who have been waiting longest first. She said that she would have to get me in by June because that is when my medical expires. Then after she looked a second longer she told me that if I wasn't starting in March that it would be May, those were the two months they would have classes available before my medical expires.

Therefore, I'm wondering, does anyone know of people who applied prior to us who are still waiting at ZKC? Wondering what the chances are of making March vs. May? Also, this is my own interpretation but it seems that class dates are available every other month (November, January, March, May) so that would put the next after May in July.?

Did she give you a reason as to why it looks like they might have to push it back again?

I'm just going to assume that someone has a clearance that will run out if they aren't in that class so they get priority. I asked about getting me into Hawaii. She said that wouldn't work and it would just put me at the back of the line again.

I spoke with M.G. this morning and was told, "the rate of attrition is less than the FAA had expected so they are reassessing the numbers to determine their new hiring needs. As a result, I may not get a class in 2010 as some applicants from 2008 are still waiting to get a class date." Not good...
