PUBNAT7 Pub 7 Emails OTS Only - No prior FAA, CTI, or VRA exp

So far from the reading I've done, I've only seen one guy (Goff1029) who got an email for Pubnat 7 but there are probably others. Anyone else?

And please... anyone with Vet Pref, Aviation, or CTI training, do not clog up my thread. Thx

From what I was reading, while OTS, Goff1029 had Vet Pref. --> his first or second post of the above forum. Like the rest of the P7's we're still waiting for that first "Golden Ticket". (I'm also part of the WQ pool, who's father's sister's cousin's boyfriend works at a tower and had them give me a nudge ) Actually, I scored a 97.2 on the test; and, was able to tour the RADAR and tower at MCO - Orlando International - and meet with the Operation's Manager. He made a few phone calls on my behalf - not sure what if anything the calls will accomplish; but, it's nice to have calls made on your behalf, you know . Best of luck to you, hopefully we won't all be passed up on this go around; but, I think we're still in the "bite your nails, check your emails feverishly, and pray every night" green zone - at least for the next couple of weeks.

i know im not helping too much with this post but i am posting here due to the last comment. i just got off the phone with a friend in a west state that one of his managers attends the panels and will be going to the one in jan (yes i asked him to name drop for me) well he just told me that in a conversation with that manager he told him that in the past panels they were given a list of names with very little info and NO SCORES from at-sat. the only info on that was a qualified column. that kinda explains y no one really knows why they pick some over the others... sounds to me like networking is a huge pay off. as much as its talked about here in the forum that networking does or doesn't pay off, i have never heard it from real world either way. now that i have heard it from a very trusted friend and from an actual person that is on the panels i believe it. my friend has been trying to help me out this whole time. reason im saying this is don't just count on your score to get you through this... network. you may not be talking to the person that will pick you... but they can name drop for you to the person that is. networking does work... i just hope that it works for me! here's to waiting !! sux!

Everyone just got off the phone with a friend of a brother of a dog who knew why the sky was blue and how the panels work.

I highly doubt everyone who has been hired has been picked up based on who they know. Sure it can help, but I doubt it is the sole basis on how they choose people, otherwise why would they spend a ton of money to test people.

I didn't know a single person in the FAA and I got hired. Hadn't visited a facility in 10 years either.

ok i knew this was going to happen.. i NEVER said that was the only way to get in! i was helping that person out! and you can take it or leave it. the source specifically said that the test column has pretty much just qualified ... not WQ or Q but just a Qualified... so it sounds like that is weeded out prior to this. they spend all the money on testing for the people that don't qualify to be done before you get to this point. and my sources wife is in pub 8... hints the questions that were asked. you don't have to believe me but for the people like me before i heard this for myself... do us a favor... if you don't "think that works" don't say anything to the people that say to network... you are the reason its hard to trust what you read here! even if you don't "think" that helps what does it hurt you to just let others think it does... it could get one person not to network and not be the lucky one to not be picked by luck. i said it does help to network as the process is not really based on what you scored! you don't try to network.. goodluck! you may need it!

Its common knowledge that who you know is a major boost when it comes to landing jobs, especially in the aviation industry, but you worded it in such a way that it sounded like you were told that it's the be all end all. I have networked and talked to many higher ups at major facilities around me, but they all have no pull when it comes to hiring.

I'm not going to disagree with you, but there was a guy over on JC who's dad is a manager at Denver, not sure if it was D01 or DEN but he was a PUB 5/6 applicant that scored highly on his AT-SAT (WQ)(screen name was CMS something or other). He posted a lot of information similar to yours and guess what, he wasn't selected! If an ATM father can't get you in, who can? I'm not saying don't try. I'm just saying, don't expect it to work.
