I was just checking my mail and noticed I have a certified letter to pick up on monday from the FAA. Last week I was told I was all cleared and just awaiting a class date so I can't think of a reason to receive anything. Anyone else gotten anything like this?

No, but when you get it, make sure you let us all know what the heck is in it!

It's going to be a request for more information regarding something in your past.

Certified letters generally aren't good things to get from the FAA. I think they send them certified because the delivery date probably counts as your 30 days to provide whatever they are asking for

That's what I was afraid of, only thing is I've been fully cleared for a couple of weeks. I did have to send more information in earlier regarding the medical but I can't think of a reason for the letter and my security has been done for months.

It's hard to say....I was told I was cleared weeks before I actually was. Not everyone is always on the same page around those offices.

could it be something involving the flying side of your life?

I thought about that too, there was a small incident a few weeks ago but I filled out an asap report (a get out of jail free card) so I doubt its over that and it was just a minor deviation. I also looked on usps.com and it said it was from Des Plaines, IL so I have a feeling its about the medical. I just don't know what it could be about. Everything I've sent in has shown me to be ok, and I was told I was fully cleared and I would be contacted for a class date about 2 weeks ago. It just drives me crazy finding the notice from the post office on a saturday night and not knowing what is going on. Just when I thought there was nothing left to be stressed about I get this and have no reason why.

I have been told a couple of times that my security clearance is complete but when I ask them if it is fully cleared or just conditional and they actually look at it, it is still conditional. Maybe you should call careers and ask if your clearance is fully complete or if it is still conditional.
