Background Check
Posted: 11-15-2009, 10:27 PM

I've been reading some of the threads where a lot of people say that the FAA won't take clearances from other agencies, but what if I just had a background check done from the FAA?? I'm an intern and had to go through that whole process in July....anybody have any idea about that??

Will be about a year from your last background check until the one they'll want to run on you... if you get selected. 405-954-4657. Besides, was it for a Secret Clearance? Just count on having to do it again.

I also worked as an intern and this was one of my questions for my TMO. He called some people in OKC and Atlanta. They said you will still have to fill out all the forms and security info. Nothing we filled out in july will be counted towards your file. The only thing that will be differently is we already have a personal folder (SP-50) So a couple of clerical steps will be by passed. It will not save you time but will require less paperwork on the FAA side of things.

It wasn't a security clearance... just a regular background check. Guess I'll have to do it all over again. I was hoping that it would help my chances of being selected since I already have the background check, but that's too much to ask I guess. Might as well hurry up and wait like everyone else.

they do check your credit, but they are looking more for extreme delinquencies and complete unwillingness to pay. if there is an issue you get to explain yourself. i thought for sure i would have a problem but did not, and i'm past due on a few student loans
