try dealing with idiot passengers on a daily basis. it gets annoying quick. although, flight benefits are nice and about the only thing keeping me sane while waiting on the FAA.

I'd bet you are now paying an annual fee just to be able to take those space available flights, and then also pay a segment fee. but it's still just barely cheaper than buying a seat!

I love my job, but I gotta say I think I'll like ATC better. The pay don't hurt either.

yes & no. sure, i pay an annual $50USD fee to have the benefits, but i only pay segment fees on international legs, all domestic flights are free.

for example: i paid $65USD total for a round trip fare to AMS this past august. here's the rub: business elite class both ways

Those sound like Delta/Delta Connection benefits. The ones for American were awful. I had to pay for any flight and it cost more for first class and I didn't get buddy passes until working there for 2 years.
